Autumn brings the most enjoyable part of owning a patio apple. Harvesting the fruit. Patio apples are late ripening and are usually ready to pick around mid to late autumn. When you hear a hollow sound, not a dull thud the apple is ripe. You can pick your apples over a period of time so don’t be impatient. But be wary, bees and wasps love ripe apples. The presents of wasps can indicate that your patio apples are close to being ripe.
