Summer

Summer is the season when your fruit grows or matures.
It is important to control pest and disease that may attack your patio apple as this will affect the size and quality of its fruit.

The main pest which attacks apples is the codling moth. The larva of the codling moth eats its way into the fruit in late spring to early summer.
Aphids also attack the leaves and fruit between spring and summer and it is important to control these so that your patio apple remains healthy.

Please click on "pest" on the top menu to view information on the control of aphids and codling moth. Or consult with your local nursery for appropriate controls

Powdery mildew is the main disease which will affect your patio apple. This usually attacks the leaves and developing apples in early summer through to autumn.
